Join the Shalom Club of Sun City to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 on Friday, September 11 at 10 a.m. at the Town Square Courtyard. This program includes Ret. Maj. Gen. John Hussey as a featured guest speaker, as well as the Sun City Veterans Association (SCVA) Color Guard, [resident] playing the National Anthem on the trumpet, [resident] reading a moving poem, [resident] playing Taps and a senior member of the firefighters with the bell ringing. The Buckeye Group will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, September 12 from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Pavilion. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, juice and coffee will be served. The event is free but the Buckeye Group is accepting donations; all proceeds go to first responders who serve Sun City. The Sun City Car Club will have cars on display as well. All Sun City residents are welcome.
Join the All About Art club and the Avant Gardeners in a collaborative art display. Artists from All About Art will present their artwork alongside floral interpretations from the Avant Gardeners. Art in Bloom is on Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, September 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Town Square, Yemassee Crafts Center. All Sun City residents are welcome and admission is free.
Democrats of Sun City Host U.S. Senate Candidate - The Democrats of Sun City and Okatie Indivisible will host a campaign event featuring Dr. Annie Andrews, candidate for United States Senate, on Sunday, September 13 at noon at the Pavilion. All Sun City residents are invited to attend.
The Sun City Swim Club is offering Adult Swim Lessons (ASL). ASL Boot Camp is designed for recreational swimmers interested in improving freestyle techniques. ASL 3-Level Fundamentals teaches skills and techniques for lap swimmers with a coach-led workout group.
• ASL Boot Camp is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, September 14-25 or November 9-20 from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
• ASL 3-Level Fundamentals Level 1 is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, September 14-25 or September 28 through October 9 from 1:30-2:30 p.m.

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and the Computer Club will host a presentation by expert Ted Steinhauser on Thursday, September 17 at 2:30 p.m. in Pinckney Hall. Information provided during the presentation will include how to use public resources from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), how to easily identify scams, prevent loss and how to report them to law enforcement.
Open enrollment is right around the corner. Staying Connected is hosting a Medicare 101 discussion and lunch on Wednesday, September 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Spanish Moss Hall, Hollow Room in Sun City West. Dieesha Hicks of The Lowcountry Council of Governments and certified Medicare counselor will be the presenter. Learn about all the Medicare options, including Medicare Parts A and B, Part D for prescription coverage and Part C for Medicare Advantage plans. Seating is limited, and registration is required. The Women's Tennis Organization will host Tennis in the Pink on Saturday, September 26 at the Town Square tennis courts. Money raised will benefit the Pledge the Pink Foundation. All women are welcome to join in the fun tennis activities starting at 8:30 a.m. These activities will be run by Gavin Cox and high school scholarship winners, followed by a tennis exhibition at 11:15 a.m. Women and men are welcome to join the noon luncheon at the Pavilion, where the club will honor cancer survivors and present award certificates to the Memorial Scholarship winners. The Music Guild is hosting a free talent showcase open to all residents to highlight their musical talents on Thursday, October 8 at 6 p.m. at the Hidden Cypress Ballroom. Groups of up to four performers are allowed and have a two to four-minute time limit; individual performers are also welcome. Only live music is allowed; no background tracks or karaoke. Keyboards, drum kits and guitar hookups are available. Performers are selected by lottery from all applicants. To apply, contact [resident] by email, [email redacted], or text at [phone redacted]. The Qi Club focuses on the internal arts of qigong, Tai chi, yoga, meditation, circle drumming and sound/vibrational healing to create energy (qi) within one's mind, body and spirit. Practice sessions promote mindfulness, relaxation and can improve body coordination and flexibility. Join the Qi Club on Saturday, October 10 from 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at the Lakehouse Ballroom for free practice sessions. No experience needed. Dress in comfortable clothing. The Qi Club leaders and members will be available to answer questions.

The Clubs & Groups eNewsletter is published on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Events must be open to all residents and held inside Sun City. Each event will be promoted no more than two times consecutively in the newsletter. Submissions should be no more than 100 words. Submissions cannot solicit members.
