The Board of Directors held a Working Session on October 7. The following agenda items were discussed:
2027 Budget The first draft of the 2027 budget was reviewed by the Board. Changes to the budget were recommended. The next draft of the budget will be reviewed by the Board and the Finance Committee on Monday, October 19.
2027 Board Appointed Committee Process and Timeline The Board reviewed the notification timeline and the Board Appointed Committee (BAC) open positions. The first notice went out on Thursday, October 8.
Golf Update [resident] started on October 12 as the new Director of Golf Operations. A Meet and Greet is planned for Tuesday, October 13 from 3–4 p.m. in the Spanish Moss Ballroom. All residents are encouraged to attend. The golf Town Hall is scheduled for Thursday, November 5 at 3 p.m. in Magnolia Hall.
Term Limits and Background Checks The Board discussed if background checks should be utilized in the vetting process for Board candidates moving forward. There was also a discussion about having term limits for Board members as well as Neighborhood Representatives (NRs) and Alternate Neighborhood Representatives (ANRs). No action was taken.
Resident Advisory Committee (RAC) Recommendations Based on the recommendation from the RAC, the Board will issue a Unanimous Written Consent (UWC) for the addition of a new neighborhood, Spartina Park. The Board will also issue a UWC for the formation of District 10.
Appeals The Board reviewed appeals on modification requests.
Chat with the Board The next Chat with the Board is scheduled for Thursday, October 15 at 6 p.m. in Magnolia Hall.
Annual Board Meeting The Annual Board Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 12 at 1 p.m. in Pinckney Hall. All residents are encouraged to attend.
