Update Regarding Sun City Network Systems
As some of you may be aware, Sun City Hilton Head staff recently identified unauthorized activity on certain systems in our network environment. Immediately upon learning of this, we took the impacted systems offline and launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity and forensic specialists to determine the nature and scope of the event.
This investigation is ongoing, and staff is working to bring all systems back to normal operations. We have reported this event to federal law enforcement and are cooperating fully with their investigation. We understand that you may have concerns, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we investigate this issue.
At this time, we are continuing to work to determine what specific information was potentially affected, and we have engaged dedicated cybersecurity legal counsel to ensure that we are complying with any legal obligations that may stem from this matter. If our investigation determines that any sensitive data pertaining to residents or other individuals was affected, we will notify those individuals accordingly.
Association Management and the Board will continue to update residents as information becomes available.
