Extreme Heat Conditions

As the Lowcountry continues to experience extreme heat and high humidity, here's a reminder about the outdoor work taking place throughout the community and the precautions needed to keep everyone safe. The Association expects these conditions to impact the community today and tomorrow, with high temperatures likely to continue throughout the week.

For everyone's safety, Live by the Lake has been cancelled due to the extreme heat advisory. The decision to cancel events is made with resident, staff, vendor and guest safety in mind.

During these extreme conditions, staff and vendor partners who work outdoors may need to take more frequent breaks, seek shaded areas, hydrate often and move at a slower pace than usual. These safety measures are necessary and may occasionally affect the timing of some outdoor services or projects.

Staff appreciate your patience and understanding as teams continue serving the community while also taking the steps needed to protect their health and well-being.

The Association encourages residents to take extra care when spending time outdoors. Please drink plenty of water, take breaks in cool or shaded areas, and limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day whenever possible.

Please remember to keep a close eye on pets as well. Keep them indoors, provide fresh water and shade, avoid hot pavement and never leave pets unattended in a vehicle, even for a short time.
